House of the Dead 2 Remake Physical Editions Announced

Light gun physical media fans can rejoice today, since after announcing a physical version of House of the Dead 2 Remake for the Nintendo Switch last month, the publisher, Microids, has now shared that physical editions for Xbox and PlayStation 5 are also on the way, signifying that a physical version will now exist for all the major consoles.

From the info that was shared, it’s clear that the Xbox disc will work on the Series X or the original Xbox One console, but it’s unclear whether the PS5 disc will also work for PS4. It seems unlikely, since no other PS5 disc has ever worked in the PS4 console, and this is a shame, as the PS4 version is the ideal console version of the game in our eyes, since it works with the PS Aim controllers.

This edition is already up for preorder in most regions, including North America, despite the post on their official Instagram account being written entirely in French and the box art clearly showing an EU rating in the corner.

While the Switch version was released last week, these Xbox and PS5 versions aren’t due out until early 2026, with the tentative date for the release currently showing as March 31st, 2026, though this may or may not end up being the final release date. In any case, reserve your copy as soon as you can, as they’ve stated these will be produced in limited quantities.
