Demo Available for New Horror Light Gun Game “Tumor Necrosis Factor: aMEN”
For light gun fans looking for a new and unique experience that also calls back to the games of the past, a demo is now available for the new game Tumor Necrosis Factor:// αᴍᴇɴ that’s currently in development by indie developer ChickenHat. The game has a lot of influence from games like House of the Dead, the Death Crimson series, and Shin Megami Tensei, with a grotesque, low-poly horror aesthetic and some unique gameplay mechanics.
The demo takes you through the entire first stage and it’s a very old-school skill-based light gun game that requires quick reflexes, quick and accurate shooting, including weak points and a mechanic where killed enemies leave behind blood that let you instantly reload if you hit the reload button with your cursor over it, as opposed to the much longer reload time when reloading normally.
These unique mechanics work their way into the boss fights as well, which are fast-paced battles with mini-games that require you to discern the right color target to hit to be able to reload your weapon quickly, making for some challenging and fun encounters.
After speaking with the developer, the aim is to have the full game out by later in 2026, and we’ll be following the development and release as it goes along, but you can check out the demo now and try to master the mechanics for yourself. You can also wishlist it on Steam to keep up with when it releases, and check out the official website with more info and images here.
Watch out for more updates and a full review once it releases, as this is turning out to be one of the most unique new light gun games we’ve had in recent years.
